Course Description
At the transport layer of the TCP/IP model, we find the User Datagram Protocol, or UDP. When fast connectionless transport is desired, then UDP is the protocol to use. In this course, you will learn to identify features associated with connectionless protocols. You'll be able to list the header fields of UDP. You'll learn the functions and ranges of port numbers and you'll be able to identify port numbers that are used with UDP. Finally, you'll learn what a socket is and how it is used with TCP/IP.
