In this course, you will study advanced clustering algorithms. A data scientist should have insights into why he or she is using specific algorithms. k-means is a general-purpose clustering algorithm that is sufficient in most cases, but depending on the type of data, advanced clustering algorithms can produce better results. You will perform k-mode clustering, implement DBSCAN clustering, perform hierarchical clustering and record clusters in a dendrogram, and perform divisive analysis.
- This course assumes prior programming knowledge in R and a basic knowledge of mathematical concepts, including exponents, square roots, means, and medians.
