Beyond providing quality technology and business courses at affordable prices, one of Develop’s larger missions is to promote the importance of, and become a resource for, people looking to navigate ongoing career development and advancement. As we all know, there’s no map… and the road is not only winding, but full of confusion, roadblocks, and sometimes chance opportunities that end up being life-changing.
To help you navigate these choppy seas, we’re hosting a series of blog posts and webinars with key leaders throughout various industries. We’ll be discussing how they got where they are today, how they stay up-to-date with current technology and tools, and what attributes they look for when they’re hiring someone to join their team.
Our first webinar guest is Rebecca Roussell, who describes herself as ‘a natural born storyteller, risk taker, leader and culture enthusiast.’ She has more than 10 years experience in marketing communications. She recently just started her own marketing consultant service and is the owner of B. Rou Integrated Marketing Experiences.
Rebecca has years of corporate experience leading efforts in multicultural marketing, diversity and inclusion, partnerships and multimedia content creation. As a Nielsen alum, she was integral in the creation of it’s award-winning Diverse Intelligence Series; the market research content specifically highlighting the consumer habits of African Americans, Hispanic/Latinx and Asian Americans. She has also created brand activations and partnerships with ESSENCE Communications, Asian American Journalist Association, Congressional Black Caucus, Chicago Tribune and others.
After her time in corporate, Rebecca joined the team at a New Orleans-based boutique agency. She led the marketing and sponsorship efforts for multiple large-scale lifestyle and entertainment festivals, which were produced by the firm.
Rebecca graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago with a Master’s in Integrated Marketing Communications. And, graduated with a Bachelor’s in Mass Communications from Dillard University in New Orleans.
In her spare time, Rebecca is a sports fanatic, a sneaker collector and loves spending time with family and friends. She currently resides in New Orleans and is a proud native of the wonderful city.
